Kristin Vanderlip
Kristin Vanderlip is a writer, artist, and founder of The Pen & Mend Collective, where she helps others discover healing and hope through writing and creativity. A former English teacher, she holds a bachelor's degree in English and a master's in education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and has since continued her studies in theology, writing, and communication at Yale and Stanford. As a bereaved mother and veteran Army spouse, she writes and creates from personal experience with trauma and grief and is passionate about supporting others navigating their own healing and life after loss.
Kristin is the author of Rest: A Journal for Lament and a certified writing coach who has led hundreds of writers through The Artist's Way and her own signature workshops, building a growing community around healing through writing as a spiritual practice. Her writing has appeared in print and online with (in)courage, DaySpring, Proverbs 31 Ministries, and Legacy Magazine. Her intuitive oil pastel paintings similarly offer a contemplative, colorful exploration of faith and feeling. A Midwest native, Kristin now lives in the Bay Area with her husband, two sons, and Golden Retriever.
