MISSION

We exist to cultivate, amplify, and advocate for the works of women writers, authors of color, and forward-thinking creators whose diverse ideas move the world through written, audio, and visual content.

By leveraging our expertise,

We CULTIVATE the works of diverse writers, authors, and creators through our writing community and coaching program, independent writing coaching, content development services, and author education events, e-courses, books, and resources.
We AMPLIFY their works through literary representation and independent publishing services.
We ADVOCATE for their works by challenging publishers to hire more diverse staff in key gatekeeping and decision-making positions to make their house a more welcoming place for their diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Through our internships and networking community for publishing professionals of color, we mentor and train up-and-coming publishing professionals of color and connect them with career opportunities and the wisdom of veteran professionals of color. We also provide diversity, equity, and inclusion consulting for publishing teams and associated organizations whose mission is to make traditional publishing more accessible, welcoming, and equitable for women and authors of color.

OUR STORY

After more than fourteen years in book publishing, Jevon Bolden launched Embolden Media Group in 2017. A boutique book publishing consulting firm and literary agency, Embolden Media Group serves and represents some of the most engaging, transformative, and wonderfully diverse group of writers, speakers, activists, faith leaders, and cultural influencers. We partner with our authors from idea conception to placement with well-established traditional publishers to their own spot on bookstore shelves.

We currently represent authors in the categories of inspirational and contemporary fiction, Christian living/spiritual growth, memoir, issues on race and ethnicity, women’s issues, health and wellness, and children’s picturebook, middle grade, and young adult.

Embolden Media Group represents authors such as Eric Mason, Sarita Lyons, Joshua Giles, Khristi Lauren Adams, Cha Barefield, Marie Chan, John Onwuchekwa, Dayo Ajanaku, and more.
