Writing Community Internship
Embolden Media Group (EMG) is a boutique publishing consulting firm and literary agency headquartered in Central Florida offering a range of writing, editing, and literary arts services. We exist to cultivate, amplify, and advocate for the works of inspirational women writers, authors of color, and diverse creators of faith whose ideas move the world through written, audio, and visual content.
We are currently looking for a digital-savvy and rallying writing community intern (with a little salesperson hidden inside), who desires to learn, by doing, how to help develop the creative lives and work of diverse people of faith.
About Our Writing Community
Part of the Embolden Media Group enterprise, Pneuma Writers is a Spirit-inspired writing community and coaching program for diverse writers of faith. This incredible and unique community is still in its infancy, and we are highly motivated to build out effective yet intuitive and organic ways to serve inspirational women writers, authors of color, and diverse creators of faith. Our members are writers who desire their writing and other creative projects to be inspired by what they hear God saying and to publish it to waiting and hungry readers. Our focus is to prayerfully, spiritually, and professionally align with them in their mission, to empower, fortify, and equip them to write and publish words that captivate audiences and assist readers with living their best lives.
Writing Community Internship Description
The Pneuma Writers digital-savvy online community intern is one who will help forward Pneuma Writers online voice and help build brand awareness and loyalty. The community intern will help align Pneuma Writers communications, PR, social media, and marketing content to help create a strong brand identity.
Your primary focus will be toward Pneuma Writers members to foster a collaborative relationship with them, to help them grow as writers, and see them publish outstanding content at their desired pace.
A secondary focus will be on all Pneuma Writers’ fans and followers, as an overflow for what happens in the group.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a deep passion for writing, publishing, and the writers themselves. You will need to love and want to be engaged in social media. It will be helpful for you to cultivate an active understanding of new developments and opportunities in the industry, and be an innovative, strategic thinker and be self-motivated to initiate and execute ideas and solutions.
In-person networking could also be part of this role. The community intern may wish to attend conferences and writing events that Embolden Media Group is invited to.
Key Projects and Responsibilities
Collaborate with founder to develop a quarterly social media calendar.
Assist with the creation of an online course platform for Pneuma Writers.
Create engaging content for Pneuma Writers private Facebook Group.
Engage with Pneuma Writers online community and respond to comments and requests.
Route incoming Pneuma Writers communication via Pneuma Writer’s email.
Onboard new Pneuma Writers members.
Arrange coaching appointments as necessary via our online scheduler
Curate Pneuma Writers’ member submissions for Pneuma Blog.
Relay community feedback to relevant internal stakeholders.
Devise and implement community communication initiatives.
Liaise with other departments to stay updated on new marketing initiatives, product and service developments, and to ensure brand consistency.
Attend networking events or relevant industry workshops as needed.
Liaise with external authors and experts for guest posts, trainings, and workshops as required.
Requirements
A degree or pursuit of a degree in communication, English, journalism, marketing or related field is preferred but not required
Experience with or motivation to learn and implement Thinkific, Kajabi, Teachable, or other online course platform is strongly preferred
Experience with MailChimp or similar email marketing platform plus email funnels is preferred
Experience with Facebook and Instagram is essential
Knowledge of Hootsuite or similar programs to manage online postings on different platforms is helpful
Experience with Squarespace is desirable
One to two years' experience managing social media platforms
Strong writing and verbal communication skills
Understanding of marketing trends and techniques
Superb time management skills

Flexible, approximately 1-5 hours per week
Compensation
The Pneuma Writers Community Intern is an unpaid position. However there is profit-share potential and hourly compensation for writing coaching services to the more qualified and motivated individual. Come help us grow this vision!
